Guess what I’m in the mood to talk about today? Website Statistics and tracking. Know why? Because its such an important part of auto-blogging and plain ol’ Internet Marketing. If you have one site or a handful of sites, this probably hasn’t become a problem for you…YET!

But, trust me, it will.

Once you get 10-20 sites or more under your belt you’ll see what a major headache it is to track stats, site rankings, PR, keyword rankings, backlinks and all that fun stuff by hand, site by site, keyword by keyword. You’ll want to stab yourself in the groin before you get to your first $100/day.

Fortunately for the noobie webmaster, there are about a bazillion webstats solutions out there to choose from for basic web stats tracking and many of those are free.

Great, right?

Erm, well, yeah, if you have 10 sites, absolutely.

But, we’re here to talk about the rest of us; IM overachievers who couldn’t be happy with just a handful of blogs – the selfish auto-blogger types, ha! We can’t afford to login to ten, one-hundred or God forbid, 1000+ cpanels and check stats and do site:searches for every keyword in every niche we target. Ugggh!

For me, there really is no solution out there that comes close to what my excruciatingly brilliant (although I am far better looking) partner Ryan and the boys in Bali have developed over the last couple of years for our own in-house ninja auto-blogging dojo.

If only I had time to go into all that I think I’d be hearing jaws hit the floor right now…

In fact, we’d love to share it with you all but it was built as a one-of-a-kind monster that lives in our basement and honestly, to port it over so the rest of the World could use it has been something we’ve talked about but, alas no such time available for such a thing as of yet.

In the meantime, that means you need a solution for traffic monitoring multiple domains.

That’s where SEO Cockpit comes in…

SEO Cockpit

Seo Cockpit is a pretty nice, clean hosted solution (that means you login to your account on their server to monitor your stats).

Features

Monitor Multiple sites from one centralized control panel – This is probably the biggest monster feature for SEO Cockpit over other solutions.

Monitor keywords – This is also a necessity if you want to really monitor many niches across multiple sites. You need to know what keywords are pulling the hits.

Its all Done For You - Yeah, this is huge. I don’t know about you but I don’t have the time to do things manually. Its really a matter of either someone sells me an automated solution, I make it myself or I do without! And, nobody likes to do without.

Monitor indexed pages – This is nice because you can get turned on to a site that is being ignored by certain search engines. For example, you may have 1600 pages indexed in Google and 24 in Yahoo. That’s a sign that obviously something’s up. Time to go research. This feature makes that sort of intelligent focus possible and easy.

Email Stat Alerts – I use this because I’m lazy. So are you. You’ll like it. :)

Monitor Backlinks – I HOPE you’re thinking about backlinks and how to get more. If you’re not PLEASE start NOW! You have to also monitor backlinks and that’s a huge pain when you have lots of sites.

Overall, SEO Cockpit is not going to knock your socks off.

It’s a little simple in some ways.

You’re not going to get tons of drawn out data on every imaginable stat you could ever dream of.

But, on the other hand, that’s really not what this tool is all about so I don’t want to be too critical on that point. This tool is more about offering a way to get a bird’s eye view of things when you wake up one day realizing that you’re screwed because their is NO WAY you can possibly monitor all your domains anymore one-by-one.

This is simply a way to get a very nice overall understanding of where things are headed and what you can do generally to get things moving in a better direction. And, IT WORKS! It does exactly what its supposed to do.

So, like it or not, no one can monitor tons of sites one-by-one. You must have another solution and SEO Cockpit is probably about the best solution we have at the moment.

I wouldn’t mess with it if you don’t have at least 5 or more sites, maybe 10. But anymore than that and you definitely need to consider a more robust, automated solution like SEO Cockpit. And, its priced well. In fact, its free to try.

This is my final point: Do NOT allow yourself to become apathetic about your stats. They’re TOO important and someone who doesn’t spend enough time monitoring stats is in trouble. You have to care about this stuff of you’re not going to make it in this business.

So, get to caring! :)
