Do the feeds/scrapers just pull and paste content or is it rewritten?

ANSWER:

Currently the content is NOT rewritten but we DO have a new plugin almost ready to release that will allow you to rewrite articles on the fly, if you’re interested in that. As of Nov 5th, its 95% complete.

My keywords are such long tail keywords that there probably wont be too many feeds for those specific keywords.

for example, if i’m doing ‘computer repair’, the keywords I specifically want to target are ‘new york keyword’ ‘florida keyword’ ‘portland keyword’ etc.

So, how can i go about achieving this? There are probably lots of sources for ‘computer repair’ but hardly any targetted to particular cities.

Content Scraping EzineArticles.com for Long Tail Keywords

First of all, you can’t really scrape ezinearticles for long-tailed keywords. Try your best to NOT rely solely on ezinearticles as your feed source and try to find niche feeds instead. You’ll generally have the best luck by doing that.

The Power of the Pipe

Another powerful, powerful approach is using Yahoo Pipes mashups to mesh a nice list of RSS feeds together and use WP Feeder. There are some pipes that account for meta searches by keyword that can create the feed that you can then pull from with wp feeder.

Keyword Stuffing with WP Spinner

Last, but not least, stuff keywords into your articles using spinner. An original ezinearticle.com artilce will loosely target the keyword niche and you can stuff more targeted content into the prefix/suffix, including long-tails.

Still, the approach of creating one page per keyword does not work very well with article scraping for the reason you mentioned above.

Instead, practice a looser approach that leans more on the article directories and the quality resources you scrape to do that for you. Its less stress on you and still gets results. The long tailed keywords can usually rank just by being placed in your articles footers as long as you drive a few backlinks.

Geo-Targeting with WordPress Categories

You might also try creating a new category for ‘Main keyword in City, State’ if its local relevant niche.
